NIC- Paula Scher

Paula Scher continues to set standards in graphic design with bold imagery and a highly illustrative approach to typography. She holds the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design 2000, and American Institute of Graphic Arts Medal 2001, says the computerarts.co.uk website.

Her most famous typographic work, is that of her maps series. Scher hand painted a large number of maps typographically, originally for her own purpose, but it soon sparked interest, and many requested works done by her in this style. Some include New York and others. Some even requested prints of her maps.
